Australia: Adopted guidance on protecting infrastructure and critical functions from “Volt Typhoon”

On 7 February 2024, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), along with other US Government Agencies and International Partners, adopted a finalised guidance concerning Volt Typhoon. The outline presents steps that leaders in critical infrastructure can take to prepare for and mitigate against potential threats. These steps include making informed and proactive resourcing decisions, securing supply chains, and promoting a cybersecurity culture. Additionally, the guidance provides contact information for reporting incidents in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, as well as a list of resources for additional support and guidance.
