Adopted report following inquiry into artificial development in France including recommendations for new authority

On 13 March 2024, the Artificial Intelligence Commission submitted a report to the President of the Republic containing 25 policy recommendations to incentivise Artificial intelligence (AI) development in France. These include launching a national awareness and training plan, investing in digital companies, making France a hub for computing power, transforming the approach to personal data, ensuring the influence of French culture, experimenting with public research in AI, and structuring a diplomatic initiative for global AI governance. For instance, the Commission also proposed the creation of a World AI Organization to evaluate and oversee AI systems, an international AI fund to serve the public interest, and a 1% AI solidarity mechanism for developing countries.
