Introduced Massachussetts Online Advertising Tax

The Act establishing a tax for online advertising is introduced in the Massachusetts General Court. The Act introduces an excise tax on any digital advertising service sold in the State, that has to be paid by the persons with revenue from digital advertising services. The excise is assessed at a rate of 6.25 percent of the persons' annual gross revenue from digital advertising services provided in Massachusetts. Revenue up to USD 1 million generated with advertisements in Massachusetts shall be exempt from the tax.
