Launched Brazilian Federal Police Investigation into Illegal E-commerce Activities

On 5 March 2024, the Brazilian Federal Police initiated Operation Ossos de Vinha to dismantle a scheme involving the sale of imported products on digital platforms without proper declarations and taxations. The investigation revealed that since 2019, over BRL 4.5 million worth of illegal goods, including drinks, televisions, and air conditioning units, have been sold through online marketplaces to customers in seven states.
