Announced commitments by Tinder to inform users of personalised prices following CPC investigation

On 7 March 2024, the European Commission and national consumer authorities announced that Tinder committed to providing consumers with clear information about personalised prices. The Consumer Protection Cooperation Network (CPC), led by the Swedish Consumer Agency and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, found that Tinder had been applying personalised prices without informing consumers, which was in violation of EU consumer regulations. Tinder agreed not to apply personalised pricing based on age without clear information, to inform consumers that discounts on premium services are personalised using automated means, and to explain why they are offered personalised discounts. The CPC will monitor Tinder's implementation of these commitments and enforce compliance if necessary.
