Implemented Law No. 406-FZ amending Act on Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection and Act on Communications including public procurement measures

On 1 September 2024, Law No. 406-FZ, amending the Act on Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection and Act on Communications, previously Bill no. 570420-7, entered into force. The Law includes measures regarding public procurement, specifying the systems that operators of state information systems, municipal information systems, information systems of state and municipal unitary enterprises, and state and municipal institutions can use. In particular, the Law prohibits the use of information systems and programs owned by foreign legal entities or citizens via the Internet, except in cases explicitly permitted by the Government of the Russian Federation.
