Established Data Protection Authority of Somalia
On 24 February 2024, Somalia's Data Protection Authority (DPA) was officially inaugurated. The role of the DPA will be to oversee the implementation and enforcement of the Data Protection Act, which was passed in March 2023. Further, the DPA will be responsible for formulating national regulations related to data protection and privacy.
