On 27 February 2024, the governments of Australia, Canada, Czechia, Finland, France, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America issued a joint statement endorsing Principles for 6G Development, Secure, Open, and Resilient by Design. The principles emphasise the need for secure and resilient technology, systematic approaches to cybersecurity, and the protection of national security. The principles also encourage the use of artificial intelligence and software-defined networking in the development of 6G technologies.
