Italy: Issued AGCOM ruling requiring TikTok to remove content related to the "French Scar" challenge

On 16 February 2024, the Italian Communications Guarantee Authority (AGCOM) adopted an order requiring TikTok to remove videos related to the “French scar” challenge, which were deemed harmful to the psycho-physical development of minors. This action was taken under the new regulation on platforms, implementing Article 41(7) of Resolution no. 298/23/CONS. The AGCOM stated that TikTok complied with the order and removed the identified videos.
