Austria: Passed Bill to Implement the DSA and Appoint the DSC

On 15 December 2023, the National Council passed the bill (DSA-Begleitgesetz–DSA-BegG) to implement the Digital Services Act (DSA). The bill introduces several amendments to existing legislation to comply with the DSA, including amendments to the Electronic Commerce Law, the Civil Code and the Telecommunications Act. Further, the bill appoints the Austrian Communications Authority (KommAustria) as the national Digital Service Coordinator (DSC) and outlines its responsibilities.
