United States of America: Introduced Automated Decision Tools Act (HB 5116) performance monitoring requirement

On 8 February 2024, the Automated Decision Tools Act (HB 5116) was introduced to the Illinois General Assembly. The Act requires deployers of automated decision tools to perform an annual impact assessment, which includes a statement of purpose, description of the tool's outputs, summary of data collected, analysis of potential adverse impacts, description of safeguards implemented, and evaluation for validity or relevance. The Act also requires deployers to notify any natural person who is the subject of the decision that an automated decision tool is being used.
