Ireland: Adopted Media Commission Guidance for Trusted Flagger Application under Article 22 of the Digital Services Act (DSA)

On 12 February 2024, the Media Commission (CNM) published the Guidance for entities applying for Trusted Flagger status under Article 22 of the Digital Services Act (DSA). The Guidance outlines the application, assessment, and decision-making process, detailing the expectations, criteria, and documentation required. It aims to ensure transparency, consistency, and proportionality in the application process. The Guidance is divided into 5 sections, including general information about the applicant, expertise and competence in detecting and reporting illegal content, independence, diligence, accuracy, and objectivity in flagging activities, and a declaration section. The document also includes annexes with additional information on the required evidence and eligibility criteria.
