Philippines: Annnounced Philippines APEC CBPR Accreditation Scheme

On 15 October 2021, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) of the Philippines announced that it was accepting applications for accreditation as Accountability Agent under the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) system. Under the APEC CBPR system, Accountability Agents certify that a company or organisation's practices and privacy policies are compliant with the requirements of the system. The system itself is voluntary and accountabiility-based.
