Closed consultation on proposed rule change to allow ETF-traded Ethereum including new issues

On 18 March 2024, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) closed a consultation again on the proposed rule change to allow ETF-traded Etherum regarding new issues that emerged. The SEC identified seven more issues for which it opened another consultation period. These issues include the filing method of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the applicability of this rule to Bitcoin ETFs, the susceptibility of the rule to manipulation, questions about the right market, price manipulation, market surveillance over the new product and a correlation between different markets.
