Published results of CSA inquiry into availability of harmful content on the Online Plattform X (formelly Twitter)

On 5 February 2024, the Superior Audiovisual Council (CSA) released findings from its inquiry on harmful online content conducted in the context of the Digital Services Act (DSA). The focus was specifically on pornographic content from French-speaking accounts on platform X, monitored from 6 September to 11 December 2023. Out of nearly 5'000 flagged items, 1'041 were reviewed by CSA, with 89% being identified as clearly pornographic. The CSA noted that despite this, only about 10% of these contents were removed by X's content moderation division, raising concerns about the platform's approach to handling such material.
