Issued NPC Statement on Misrepresentation and False Information in Data Processing System Registration

On 27 January 2024, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) released a public advisory cautioning against misrepresentation and the dissemination of false information during data processing system registration. The NPC emphasised Section 25(G) of NPC Circular No. 2022-04, which stipulates that the NPC holds the authority to revoke the registration of a Personal Information Controller (PIC) or Personal Information Processor (PIP) if they furnish inaccurate details or misrepresent crucial information in the registration process.
