Ukraine: Published Ministry of Digital Transformation Recommendations for the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Media

On 24 January 2024, the Ministry of Digital Transformation published recommendations for the responsible use of artificial intelligence in the media. These recommendations are designed to acquaint Ukrainian journalists with contemporary global practices in this domain. Core principles outlined encompass ensuring transparency in AI system deployment, distinguishing between authored and AI-generated content, giving precedence to the human element in content creation, and advocating for media self-regulation when incorporating this technology. The document offers explicit guidance on the factors media should weigh when selecting AI systems and how to evaluate the ethical and veracious aspects of content produced through artificial intelligence.
