United Kingdom: Opened public consultation on the anticipated acquisition of Serato Audio Research Limited by AlphaTheta Corporation

On 23 January 2024, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) opened an invitation to comment on the anticipated acquisition of Serato Audio Research Limited by AlphaTheta Corporation, which, among other things, are on the music production software market. The CMA is considering whether this transaction may result in a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may result in a substantial lessening of competition within markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services. The CMA invites comments on the merger from any interested party until 6 February 2024.
