Introduced House Bill 1908 establishing data governance requirements

The House Bill 1908 is introduced in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, establishing requirements for transparency and disclosure of information collected by smart technology devices. According to the Bill, a smart technology device manufacturer has to provide a variety of information about the extent to which data is collected, the purpose of the collection, the types of collected data and the types of data shared with third parties. The Bill adds obligations concerning the users' consent. Finally, the manufacturers shall establish a comprehensive "privacy program" designed to address privacy risks.
