Description

Implemented Resolution extending simplified procedure for importing electronic devices and equipment (No. 2388)

On 1 January 2024, the Russian Government implemented the Resolution on the simplified procedure for importing electronic devices and equipment (No. 2388). The Resolution amends the Resolution No. 834 of 9 May 2022, thereby continuing the simplified procedure for issuing permits for the import of products with encryption equipment (e.g. smartphones, laptops, etc.) until the end of the year 2024. In order to import these products, the Centre for Licensing, Certification and Protection of State Secrets of the Federal Security Service of Russia had to be notified and authorise the import. With the simplified procedure, certain industry associations may grant permits for the import as well.
