Description

Issued MIC Black List including websites non-compliant with regulations protecting copyrighted works and prohibiting gambling

On 5 January 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam published a "Black List", which includes 403 websites. The list includes websites related to digital payment providers, e-commerce platforms, and platforms hosting user-generated content. The blacklisted websites are accused of illegal broadcasting, copyright violation of sports programmes, and other legal infringements. This action is in line with the Government's Decree 70/2021/ND-CP dated 20 July 2021, which prohibits advertising service providers, publishers, and advertisers from cooperating with blacklisted websites. The MIC also maintains a "White List" of websites with verified content, encouraging advertising providers to collaborate with the listed platforms.
