On 3 January 2024, the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act (SB 15) was introduced to the Kentucky Senate. The Act aims to establish consumer data privacy rights, emphasising transparency, security, and individual control over personal information. The Act grants parents or guardians the right to invoke rights on behalf of their children, and consumers can authorise agents to exercise their data privacy rights. The controllers would be required to specify their data-sharing policy and provide clear privacy notices in multiple languages.
