United States of America: Issued interim ruling in FTC case against IQVIA's acquisition of Propel Media

On 29 December 2023, the Southern District of New York issued an interim ruling granting the preliminary injunction requested by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in its investigation into IQVIA Holdings Inc.'s acquisition of Propel Media Inc. about competition in healthcare programmatic advertising. The judge ruled in favour of the FTC, noting that there is a reasonable probability that the merger would give IQVIA a dominant market position, which could lead to increased costs for consumers and impede innovation.
