Hungary: Opened investigation into Spark Networks Services GmbH regarding alleged misleading advertisement

On 21 June 2022, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVA) announced an investigation into Spark Networks Services GmbH, the operator of "Elite Partners," for allegedly misleading its customers through advertising. The investigation focuses on the company's alleged failure to clearly communicate that registered users, even before a subscription, cannot engage in meaningful matchmaking, as they cannot view others' profile pictures or send/receive messages without a subscription.
