Adopted 12th Russian sanctions package including export controls and restrictions on technologies

On 18 December 2023, the Council of the European Union adopted the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. The package of sanctions includes controls and bans on dual-use and advanced technological and industrial goods worth EUR 2.3 billion per year. The package contains new export controls on dual-use and advanced technology goods, including chemicals, thermostats, DC motors, and servomotors for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), machine tools, and machine parts. Additionally, there are new export bans on industrial goods within the EU, such as machinery, construction-related goods, processed steel, copper and aluminium products, lasers, and batteries. Furthermore, 29 Russian and third-country entities linked to Russia's military-industrial complex, including entities from Uzbekistan and Singapore, have been added to the list.
