Netherlands: Adopted ACM report following inquiry into the telecommunication sector

On 13 December 2023, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) concluded its inquiry into the telecommunication sector, noting that it found that the current level of competition in the telecom market is sufficient. ACM plans to review the market annually to ensure ongoing competitive conditions, particularly monitoring the adherence of KPN and Glaspoort to the commitment decision regarding open access to their fibre optic networks. The rapid expansion of fiber optic networks is enhancing consumer choices, with the ACM expecting widespread access to these networks and their continued availability to multiple service providers.
