Announced Competition Authority investigation into Meta concerning violation of the Competition Protection Law

On 12 December 2023, the Competition Authority of Turkiye announced that it is opening an investigation into Meta Platforms. The Competition Board concluded, after a preliminary investigation, that there is sufficient information, documents, and findings to support the opening of an investigation. The Board alleges that Meta violated Article 4054 of the Competition Protection Law by linking its newly launched Threads application with the Instagram application.
