On 13 December 2023, the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) voted to revise the European Union geo-blocking rules (REGULATION (EU) 2018/302) to apply to specific digital services related to copyrighted content. In particular, e-books, music, software, and online games are mentioned as services currently affected by geo-blocking. The MEPs adopted recommendations aimed at improving consumer access to cross-border delivery services, including cross-border parcel delivery services. Furthermore, the MEPs recommend reducing cross-border shipping costs. Additionally, MEP suggested measures to improve cross-border access to online catalogues of audio-visual content and live sports events.
