Opened consultation on EU Commission implementing regulation laying down templates concerning the transparency reporting obligations under DSA

On 8 December 2023, the European Commission opened a consultation on the implementing regulation laying down templates concerning the transparency reporting obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA) until 24 January 2024. The regulation is applicable to intermediary services and online platforms in regard to the transparency reports on content moderation. The DSA lays down the obligation to publish regular transparency reports on the content moderation on the services as well as what information is required in the reports. The regulation is based on the assessment of reports made by very large online platforms and search engines and aims to ensure the same standard and quality of all reports in relation to the level of transparency and accountability across platforms. The regulation formulates mandatory templates for the transparency reports, including their form and content, and harmonises the reporting periods.
