On 4 December 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of Singapore released the government's national artificial intelligence (AI) strategy 2.0. The national AI strategy follows another AI strategy from 2019. The strategy outlines a systematic approach in three main areas, "activity drivers," "people and communities," and "infrastructure and environment." The plan includes establishing AI Centers, equipping governmental agencies with specialised knowledge, and increasing the number of AI practitioners to 15’000 through training programs. Singapore furthermore plans to deepen collaboration with cloud computing and chipmaker companies in order to enhance computing capacity and implement the strategy over the next 3–5 years.
