Introduced Bill on labour regulation for delivery of goods and services through digital platforms

On 7 November 2023, the Bill on labour regulation for the delivery of goods and services through digital platforms was introduced in the Senate of Mexico. The Bill aims to safeguard user and consumer information, ensure the safety and respect of the parties involved, have insurance coverage for workers and accidents, establish clear contractual conditions for payment and salary while complying with the minimum wage and clarify that tips are not part of the salary and can therefore not be retained by the employer. Furthermore, the Bill would require digital platforms to provide access to social security and worker risk insurance.
