Published OIPC guideline on the use of AI to health information custodians

On 30 November 2023, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) published guidelines regarding Artificial intelligence (AI) for custodians, as defined in the Health Information Act (HIA) and its regulations. The guidelines aim to provide guidance on the usage of AI, as many organisations may be unfamiliar with how best to ensure their use of AI complies with the law. The new guidance on the use of AI is particularly focused on small custodians in the health sector.
