Description

Closed consultation on Attorney General shortlist of universal opt-out mechanisms under the Colorado Privacy Act

On 11 December 2023, the Colorado Attorney General closed the public consultation on the shortlist of universal opt-out mechanisms (UOOMs) under the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA). The CPA requires qualifying organisations to provide consumers with the option to opt out of the sale of their personal data and its use for targeted advertising through UOOMs. The Colorado Department of Law, after receiving applications for UOOMs from 5 October to 6 November 2023, has selected a preliminary list of these mechanisms for public consideration. The measures under CPA will come into effect on 1 July 2024.
