Adopted US-Japan statement under Partnership for Growth and Innovation including export controls

On 14 November 2023, the United States (US) and Japan convened the second ministerial meeting of the Japan-US Economic Policy Consultative Committee (EPCC). The parties aim to enhance cooperation on export controls to ensure that critical and emerging technologies, including microelectronics and surveillance systems, are not diverted to military or other uses that could threaten international peace and security.
