On 4 October 2023, the European Commission, the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure and UNESCO launched a project establishing a national Artificial Intelligence (AI) supervision system. The aim is to develop a governance and supervision framework for AI applications. The project aligns with the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which aims at establishing the world's first rules on Artificial Intelligence. UNESCO is involved in analysing institutional designs for AI supervision. The project will produce a comprehensive report, case studies and best practices from European countries to enhance institutional capacity for ethical AI development.
