Signed Cooperation and Information Sharing Protocol between the Personal Data Protection Authority and the Competition Authority

On 26 October 2023, the Turkish Competition Authority and the Personal Data Protection Authority signed a Cooperation and Information Sharing Protocol. The authorities signed the Protocol in light of the increased interdependence of personal data protection and competition issues. The Protocol aims to ensure active cooperation between the authorities while strengthening consumers’ rights and establishing an effective competition environment. In particular, the Protocol engages the authorities to collaboratively work in developing areas, raise awareness among users in regard to protecting personal data and competition, and address and discuss issues of common interest in national and international settings. Further, the authorities will organise presentation and discussion programs as well as training in the area of personal data protection and competition.
