On 6 November 2023, the European Commission sent a request for information under the Digital Services Act (DSA) to AliExpress. The Commission requests more information regarding AliExpress' compliance with the obligations as a Very Large Online Platform under the DSA. AliExpress must comply with risk assessment and consumer protection measures and provide information on the measures it has implemented. In particular, the consumer protection measures relate to the increasing dissemination of illegal medicines and pharmaceuticals being sold online. AliExpress must supply the information until 27 November 2023, after which the Commission will evaluate the information and assess the next steps.
