United States of America: Signed Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence including public procurement access

On 30 October 2023, the President of the United States signed an Executive Order (EO) on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI), including provisions regarding public procurement access. In particular, the Administrator of General Services, within 180 days, is required to issue guidelines and clarifications to facilitate access to commercially available AI tools and specify the safety and security criteria that the tools have to meet to be acquired.
