Description

Adopted G7 Guiding Principles for Organisations Developing Advanced AI Systems including design requirements

On 30 October 2023, the Group of Seven (G7) adopted the International Guiding Principles for Organisations Developing Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. The Guiding Principles aim to promote a safe, secure, and trustworthy development and use of AI and list 11 principles that developers have to follow. In particular, the Guide states that developers must take appropriate measures throughout developing advanced AI systems, including before and throughout their deployment and placement on the market, to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks across the AI lifecycle, identify patterns of misuse after deployment, publicly report advanced AI systems’ capabilities and limitations and report incidents with industry, governments, civil society, and academia. Furthermore, the Guide recommends that developers deploy reliable content authentication and provenance mechanisms, where technically feasible, such as watermarking or other techniques to enable users to identify AI-generated content and implement appropriate data input measures and protections for personal data and intellectual property.
