Implemented Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet including data protection requirements

On 1 January 2024, the Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet entered into force. The Regulations require online service providers to implement an age verification mechanism. The network service providers are allowed to collect the personal data only necessary for the service and cannot compel minors or their guardians to consent to unnecessary personal data processing. Finally, providers are prohibited from denying minors access to essential services if they withdraw consent or object to data processing.
