Implemented Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet including content monitoring requirement

On 1 January 2024, the "Regulations on the Protection of Minors on the Internet" entered into force. The Regulations prohibit the dissemination of harmful content, including obscenity, pornography, violence, and extremist ideologies, to protect minors' physical and mental health. In addition, the Regulations address cyberbullying and the responsible provision of age-appropriate content for educational purposes. Moreover, the Regulations require internet service providers to verify the identities of minors and their guardians before providing service. Finally, online game providers must alter game content to prevent minors from becoming addicted to the internet.
