On 24 October 2023, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced Rules to prevent discrimination in access to broadband services under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act. The Rules aim to prevent discrimination based on income level, race, ethnicity, colour, religion, and national origin. The FCC seeks to directly engage with companies on policies and practices and investigate possible instances of broadband access discrimination. On 15 November 2023, the full Commission will vote on the Rules.
