Turkiye: Adopted KVKK guidelines on the processing of genetic data

On 13 October 2023, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) published guidelines on the processing of genetic data according to Article 6 of the Personal Data Protection Law. The guideline specifies that genetic data is classified as a special category of personal data and lists the legal basis for collecting such data. The guideline specifies the technical and administrative measures that controllers must implement when processing genetic data.
