Adoption of cybersecurity strategy 2021 by the German Federal Council

On 8 September 2021, the German Federal Council adopted its cyberssecurity strategy for the next 5 years, which was proposed by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community. Primarily, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) will be given more law enforcement responsibilities and oversight competencies in relation to national cybersecurity. Germany will further strengthen the importance of cybersecurity by increasing transparency on the matter and establishing cybersecurity not only as a task of the state but also across business, science and society.
