Implemented Ordinance No. 504/2023 regulating the implementation of provisions from the Practical Audiovisual Guide

On 9 October 2023, Ordinance No. 504/2023 regulating the implementation of provisions from the Practical Audiovisual Guide entered into force following its publication in the Official Gazette. It requires online streaming providers to implement provisional indicative classification symbols, definitive indicative classification symbols, content descriptors, parental blocking based on specified age groups, and other mandatory information about the indicative classification. Operators of conditional access services are required to implement these changes by 31 March 2024 for both new and existing customers. Linear channels must display the classification symbols and other information by 31 December 2023. Video-on-demand platforms are also instructed to comply with these obligations for existing and new content. These platforms and conditional access services must inform the Rating Policy Coordination of their activities in fulfilling these obligations every sixty days.
