Issued Ad Hoc Committee Report on inquiry into Worldcoin activities in Kenya

On 27 September 2023, the Kenya Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee concluded its inquiry into Worldcoin activities and issued its report. The Committee found that Worldcoin started operating in Kenya before applying for registration as a data controller and continued to operate despite cessation orders by the authorities. Further, the Committee states that Worldcoin's aim of decentralising the monetary system poses a threat to statehood. Therefore, the Committee recommends disabling the virtual platforms of Worldcoin, including blacklisting IP addresses of related websites.
