Issued a list of applications non-compliant with data and security regulations following the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology investigation

On 27 September 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a list of applications and third-party software development kits (SDKs) that violate the Personal Information Protection Law, Network Security Law, Telecommunications Regulations and Telecommunications and Internet Users' Personal Information Protection Regulations. The Ministry investigated mobile internet applications (APPs), mini-programs, and third-party SDKs developed for leisure, entertainment, hotels, and restaurants. The Ministry stated that a total of 23 APPs (SDKs) were identified for infringing on user rights and interests and have been officially notified. The listed entities are required to rectify their practices in compliance with relevant regulations. Failure to implement the necessary corrections may result in the Ministry initiating further actions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
