Adopted revised Ministry of Trade Regulation 50/2020 including international trade requirements for e-commerce platforms

On 25 September 2023, the Indonesian Government adopted the revised Ministry of Trade Regulation 50/2020. The revised Regulation introduces several provisions related to international e-commerce transactions. Notably, the Regulations establish a list of international goods that are allowed to be traded through e-commerce platforms. Trade in these goods will be given equal treatment to domestic offline trade. The Regulation also outlines the requirements for trade in certain categories such as halal certification for food items and POM certification for beauty products. Additionally, it establishes a minimum import transaction threshold of USD 100 for e-commerce platforms.
