Adopted Guiding Opinions regarding punishment of violence and crime on the Internet

On 25 September, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Public Security adopted the Guiding Opinions on punishment, violence and crime on the Internet in accordance with the law. The guidelines provide legal clarity regarding the application of laws on cyber violence crimes, outlining protocols for handling cyber violence offences and fundamental policy principles governing the penalties for cyber violence offences. In addition, the guideline outlines network service providers' obligations related to identifying content inciting cyber violence or classified as insult and slander and implementing corrective measures.
