Implemented GECEX Resolution on changing import duty rates on IT and telecom goods (ex-duties) to zero per cent (GECEX Resolution No. 521)

On 2 October 2023, the Brazilian Government implemented the GECEX Resolution on changing import duty rates on IT and telecom goods (ex-duties) to zero per cent (GECEX Resolution No. 521). In particular, the resolution modifies the import tax rates for listed IT and telecom goods, including, for example, ethernet interface modules and data capture equipment, reducing them to zero percent. The resolution was approved by the Executive Committee of the Foreign Trade Chamber and builds upon prior decrees and resolutions.
